About

As a popular subreddit declares, "data is beautiful." As companies increasingly rely on accurately interpreting huge amounts of data, greater focus is placed on effective visual presentation of data. In this talk I'll introduce the discipline of data visualization, and discuss strategies for building reports with user experiences that are intuitive, useful, and don't feel like they were designed by a robot.

About the speaker:

Porter James has worked in the field of Business Intelligence for 10 years, building data warehousing platforms that enable businesses to rapidly access and analyze their data. He believes that a modern analytics platform should be democratic, simple, and user-friendly, empowering everyone in the organization to make informed, data-driven decisions.
